Panda 2.5 Update

Last week, Google roll out the new Panda 2.5 update. SEO Outsourcing companies are aware of the updates, but many SEO specialists figured it out since they saw their traffic hitting rock bottom. Their suspicions were confirmed by Google’s Matt Cutts.

Most sites went straight ahead to SearchMetrics and used the SEO visibility chart to identify the winners and losers of the latest Panda update. Lo and behold, the data showed that Google was favoring their own brands in terms of SEO visibility metrics, which is used to identify Panda impact.

What is SEO Visibility?

According to the SearchMetrics site, SEO Visibility displays the visibility of the selected domain in the organic search”. This may not be the exact answer that most SEO specialists would want to hear- or read, though this may be clearer in the long run.

Winners vs. Losers

There were a number of sites that gained good ranks as winners because of their increase in SEO visibility. Big changes were seen from the week before and after the updates. Two data points were also identified for, well, the loser of the Panda update. If you get a chance to look at the SearchMetric site, you’ll be surprised with the websites that’s in the loser list. As of now, no one could identify this drop and improve pattern for both winners and losers. Some say that maybe some sites fixed their issues fast, or the issue was in the data provided, that fixed itself this week too.

Moral Lesson: Don’t base your SEO strategies on two data points, because in the future, this will be nothing.
